Desert Island Discs

Being that Summer is pretty much here, and the inspo behind our Summer Collection is all things shipwrecked, we thought we’d put together our very own edition of Desert Island Discs. So here it is, a difinitive list of our most perfect tunes for summer, that we wouldn’t mind being marooned with… Leave a comment below to let us know what tunes would be at the top of your own Desert Island Discs playlist.

1. Kendrick Lemar – Untitled Unmastered

This unexpected release of demos from the messiah that is Kendrick, just feels like an all around treat.

2. Van Morrison – Astral Weeks

The first fully-fledge solo album by Morrisson, still sounds as hypnotic as when we first ever heard it.

3. Jay Z – The Black Album

So ok the retirement didn’t last long, but Jay Z’s so called ‘farewell album’ still kicks a punch.

4. Dum Dum Girls – Too True

Dreamy female vocals and guitar reverb make this the perfect girl power album for summer.

5. Grimes – Visions

We find Grimes’ weird original gonzo pop just totally intriguing and addictive.

6. Nirvana – MTV Unplugged in New York

Recorded only 4 months before Kobain’s death, this MTV live performance awkwardness and intimacy make it close to our hearts.

7. FKA Twigs – LP1

This masterclass in sexual angst sees FKA Twgs laid bare through personal lyrics, whilst still being undeniably catchy

8. Jamie xx – In Colour

With signature steel pan sounds, this nostalgic album is the perfect summer banger.

9. Action Bronson – Mr Wonderful

No-nonsense hip hop from Action Bronson.

10. Bob Marley – Legend

Full of universal soul and Jamaican rhythm, a true classic.
