How did you get in to what you are doing? I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t interested in fashion. When I started University I began freelancing and assisting on shoots whenever and wherever I could. From there, it slowly just became my job! My first real styling gig was for Selfridges personal shopping where I was literally thrown in the deep end working with fashion royalty like Sienna Miller and some mega celebs. I loved it!

What do you think makes a good stylist? It sounds like such a generic answer but the main thing is just having an eye for fashion. Putting pieces together that you wouldn’t think would work but do! There is nothing more exciting than seeing a new trend that no one is doing and thinking I’m going to try that!

IMG_9074

How has your style changed over time? My style changes every week! I definitely dress more to fit my mood and I feel I express myself with  my clothes now. From living in London and working in Camden, I’m, not scared to wear pretty outrages pieces when I’m in the mood!

Perks of the job? Working with inspiring people everyday! Getting to see the new trends before they hit ASOS site is exciting.

IMG_8995
How would you describe your style? At the moment my style is very 70s drive. I’ve always loved the old school Cali style. I love colours and pieces that stand out – you can normally spot me a mile away!

Do you plan every shoot/outfit in advance or just go with the flow?
What are most exciting trends for Summer 15? The summer is all about the 70s vibe for me. Big flares mixed with metallic, suede and sequins! Mega heels and bright colours.

Favourite go-to outfit? My bomber jacket, skinny jeans and a beanie
Ultimate style icon? Chloe Sevigny has been my style icon for life.
Junk food weakness? Chilli cheese fries 🙂
Where would we find you on a typical Friday night? At the pub with my mates drinking cider and black!

How did you get in to what you’re doing? I started when I was 16 just for fun and it kinda just turned into a full time job haha!

PERKS OF THE JOB? YOU GET TO GO TO SOME REALLY FUN EVENTS AND MEET SOME FAB PEOPLE! ALMOST ALL OF MY GOOD FRIENDS, ARE PEOPLE I HAVE MET THROUGH BLOGGING.

Best advice someone has ever given you? Probably to not care what people think

raggedpriestpinkkk1

Favourite go-to outfit? I have some super stretchy black ripped knee jeans, I think everyone must have a pair by now, I’ve heard a few people describe them as chavvy, but they look fab on, so I care not!! If I just wear it with a cute jumper I’m like yea dis works.

Ultimate style icon? I’m not very good at style icons, up until recently I DIDN’T really have one, but I’ve become a bit obsessed with Rose Mcgowen circa 1998, she’s super interesting.

Favourite trends for Summer 15? I like the 70’s thing everyones going for at the moment, I don’t think it suits me personally though. Everything is brown… I can’t do brown. So maybe a pink/ lilac/ baby blue version would be more me. I recently acquired some lilac spandex flares.

Where would we find you on a typical Friday night? At home replying to emails and doing various blogging things. I love working and hate going out aha. To me Friday and the weekend is no different from any other day and I kinda like it that way.

raggedpriestpinkkk3

Junk food weakness? uHHH idk everything, chinese, pizza or kfc, oh and frappuccinos

Rainy day movie? I don’t really watch movies unless its something to which my boyfriend has said “omg we need to watch this. I think currently I’d be inclined to say Mirai Nikki would be my rainy day series, I literally want to be Yuno. I just found out a few minutes ago that theres going to be a new series of Digimon, with the original cast. I don’t think I have ever been more excited in my entire life oh my god someone hold me.

What’s next for Kayla Hadlington? Probably more of the same but better! Maybe I’ll pop some green in my hair who knows.

Sticks & Stones Agency

Name(s): Ainsley Hutchence & Sebastien Fougere

Occupation: Sticksandstonesagency.com & Art direction / styling

Mission In Life: Good Vibes

photo

Where is home to you? Where my family is (Sebastien & his 2 kids & my daughter @ulacoco). So for now… The Sunshine Coast QLD Australia.

What is Sticks and Stones Agency, and why does it rule? Its mostly a website now. Its kinda like a directory. Directing readers to cool shit & rad people doing awesome shit. We feature amazing photo shoot submissions from all over the world & Shitty Interview awesome peeps doing awesome things & write about important stuff like… ‘High Speed Internet Porn Might be making your dick limp’ & ‘Don’t worry terrorists, The Food & Drug industries are killing everyone off for you’… Real shit like that. Not waste of time shit.

How did you get in to what you’re doing? For us we just naturally evolved. We started out as clothing label…. This turned into a fashion agency. At one point we were representing 12 brands here in Australia. At some stage our instagram account started to gain followers & so we decided it was time to create our own content. This is when we started directing & styling our own shoots. In June this year (2014) we decided we needed a bigger better platform to feature work on & so launched www.sticksandstonesagency.com & it just kinda took off….

yes

Where do you think your eye for design/creative direction comes from? Ummmmm……. I have no idea….. Since I can remember I have always just had a thing for colour & shape balance …. in decorating rooms, when im putting clothes on the line, basically everything I do has to look balanced. The house can be super messy as long as its a balanced mess. Like if there is a pile of clothes in one corner then there should definitely be another pile on the other side of the room. My mums favorite story is that when I was 15 my brothers were super into GTA (grand theft auto) & super competitive about their scores. I decided to play it one day & stole as many cars as possible & lined them all up in a carpark to look like the colour wheel. Eventually they all got blown up & I accidentally passed my brothers high score…  I was just born this way. Sometimes it drives me crazy.

Perks of the job? Creating my own time schedule, being my own boss, being creative, working from home, showcasing awesome peeps all working on stuff they love.

Craziest thing you have ever had to do for work? I really haven’t done anything that I consider that crazy for work yet. Sorry for boring answer.

Best advice someone has ever given you? Change is the only constant.

What do you do to keep you sane? Eat healthy, follow my heart. If my heart isn’t in what I am doing then I always move onto something else. I live in the now & never try to force anything that I am not inspired by in that moment. This keeps me sane.

How is it working with your other half? Amazing 98% of the time. Hard when we don’t agree on a creative idea…. Working on the same project with different creative direction & ideas is extremely difficult. But when we are on the same page with everything & it all just flows I feel like we are unstoppable. I feel really lucky to be working alongside my partner for so many reasons. We just understand each other on such a deep level because we are going through life together on all levels.

How would you describe your style? Vintage tee & kimono. Usually stained.

Who is your ultimate style icon?  Sebastien (My husband) coz he don’t give a fuck.

Where would we find you on a typical Friday night? At home with my daughter & Sebastien. BORING… Soz.

Junk food weakness? Chocolate… But always organic…. But I am trying to give up all sugar entirely. Its addictive & so bad for you!

Rainy day movie? I would go TV series…. WORKAHOLICS or FARGO.

What’s next for Sticks & Stones? We are about to make some pretty awesome changes on our website. We are going to add more pages so that if you are just interested in reading our Shitty Interview for example you can just click on our “shitty Interview; page rather then scroll through the blog. We have also found 3 writers for the blog who will be writing about all kinds of funny & cool shit & so we will have a ‘read shit’ page. We also have a handful of fun US trips to make next year…. Photo & blogging projects at music festivals & fashion trade shows.

It’s that time of year again –  Lookbook Shoot time. So recreating ‘Spring’ in Mid-January in the UK was  more than a little challenging, but we think we got there in the end?

Lessons Learned:

– British weather means that it is possible to experience all 4 seasons within a couple of hours. Pack accordingly.

– Coffee and Cheeseburgers solve everything

– Being a model is totally glamorous

– Pigs are cool

– Always bring wellies

Stay tuned for the full lookbook…. coming soon!

Honor Hamilton

Name: Honor Hamilton

Occupation: PR/Stylist

Mission In Life: Make a living working in fashion for-ev-er and positively inspire humans across the planet

Who or what is your spirit animal? Butthead

Where is home to you? Los Angeles, CA

111

How would you describe your style? This is the hardest question to answer but it’s literally whatever my current mood is for the day. To put into words: A combination of 60’s mod, 70’s disco and 90’s grunge chewed up and spit into my wardrobe, sometimes worn separately, but usually combined

Who is your ultimate style icon? Jesse Camp, MTV VJ from the 90’s

How did you get in to what you’re doing? Fashion has always been a part of my life since that’s the reason my Mom moved to America when she was my age. I’ve literally interned and worked in every aspect of the fashion industry during the past decade of my life. I kind of do a little bit of everything right now, but I fell into everything basically working hard, networking, and of course time.

22222

Where do you think your eye for design/creative direction comes from? I’ve been a visual and creative person for as long as I can remember. I’m constantly looking at things everywhere I go, and get inspired by literally everything. My parents always introduced me to different eras of fashion, artists, music, specific films, people, places, decades of art, and food, so being raised with that, then gravitating towards people, places, and activities that revolve around that, I am constantly being inspired, surrounding myself with it.

Perks of the job?  Having the opportunity to meet and work with some of the raddest humans, brands, and like-minded individuals.  Anytime I catch myself bummed out about something or being stressed from work, I reflect on life and am SO thankful that I work in the industry I am passionate about and thank Jah for everything I’ve experienced just from working in this industry that I would’ve never been able to otherwise. I mean, I remember trying to swing some Ragged Priest pieces at LF Store sales and now here I am working with Ragged Priest.. that’s pretty awesome.

666666

Craziest thing you have ever had to do for work? Run as fast as I can around huge jagged rocks to avoid getting smashed by massive waves just to get a shot that was never even used.
Best advice someone has ever given you? Do whatever makes you happy… literally best advice ever, as long as you aren’t harming anyone else and use good judgment
What do you do to keep you sane? Listen to music and smoke my sweet lady Mary.  Fashion is #1 forever, but music is a strong runner up and you can relate music to anything going on in your life.

3333333

Where would we find you on a typical Friday night? There’s no such thing as a typical Friday night in my life

Junk food weakness? McDonald’s chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce

Rainy day movie? Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Most played songs on your playlist right now?
Diamond Rugs – Blue Mountains (literally have listened to this song at least once everyday since January)
Project Pat ft. Juicy J & Doe B – Never Be A G
Allah Las – De Vida Voz
Mac Demarco – Freaking Out The Neighborhood

444444

What’s next for Honor Hamilton? Continue to work hard and see what opportunities I can create.  I have my hands in a few projects right now with designing and a style app…  but if all goes well, I’m looking to start a vintage store in Spring of 2015 with one of my friends.  I’ve been collecting for it the past year with a focus on rad 60’s and 70’s psychedelic prints and pieces; so keep your eyes peeled!

Best piece of advice that someone has given you? My Mum told me to remember that ‘life isn’t a fairy tale’ and weirdly that helps me get through the hard times – everyone has their problems and life goes on!

Scariest Moment during a set/show? The first time I did live filming. I was presenting the Topman Design Show at LCM and had 5 people talking in my ear, a bunch of cameras and no script! I’m prepared for anything now…

Rainy Day Movie? Bring It On, Clueless or Mean Girls. I genuinely know the words to all three… must have had a lot of rainy days.

Your favourite London hang-out? The Kings Head in Dalston is always a good vibe. It’s super interesting to look around, loads of themed animal rooms, great food, cocktails and awesome people.

Where would we find you on a typical Friday night? In a restaurant, eating Thai food, or at my mates house, eating Thai food, or at home with a Thai takeaway, or in bed, with Thai food.

What’s next for Becca Dudley? Hopefully a bunch of new TV shows! As well as really knuckling down in the music world, plus I just started a new radio show on Hoxton Radio, which might open a few doors. I may have a cheeky brand collab coming out soon too.
