The Ragged Priest started life as a vintage shop specialising in custom denim. We've grown a bit since those days, but remain a small team and small brand with a (dark) but responsible mindset. We know we have a responsibility to do better and put sustainable processes in place to ensure we are offsetting our footprint and creating collections as sustainably as possible. Our commitments and initiatives below are just the start, and we'll keep this page updated with our progress. If you have any questions or feedback please slide into our DMs @theraggedpriest.
We're proud to partner with The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) to improve cotton farming globally. Better Cotton is not physically traceable to end products. However, BCI Farmers benefit from the demand for Better Cotton in equivalent volumes to those we source. We aim to source all our denim as more eco-conscious cotton by 2025. This includes cotton sourced as Better Cotton, recycled, Fairtrade and organic cotton.
We are introducing eco washes in denim which use less energy, water and contain no hazardous chemicals. By the end of 2022 our white, charcoal & indigo washes will be EIM (Environmental Impact Management) certified eco washes.
We understand the use of acrylic and polyester is not the future and we’re working with our suppliers to source and design using sustainable fabrics as soon as we can. We'll update you on our progress with this here.
We have introduced 3D digital design to reduce sampling, fabric waste and our carbon footprint.
Due to the potential risk to animal welfare, we do not use animal fur, mohair, angora, cashmere, silk, down or feathers in any of our products, and never will.
Milk It clothing delivers conscious collections for the fashion thirsty, designed in recycled, organic and sustainable fabrications LENZING™ ECOVERO™. Find out more about sustainability at Milk It.

Inclusivity is in our DNA and we reject discrimination of any kind. We are the misfits.
Last year we donated all profits made in 24 hours from our online store to the George Floyd memorial fund and we continue to recognise the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement and operate a no tolerance policy to any kind of racism.
There’s no cult without community. We partnered with @gorybastard to design and release a charity t-shirt that 100% of the profits were donated to Centre Point, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. More charity initiatives coming, stay tuned.
In 2021 we ran a live photography project in collaboration with charitable organisation Positive View for students giving them the opportunity to photograph Ragged Priest AW'21 clothing for their portfolios with mentoring from our in-house creative team. Find out more about Positive View.
