MILK IT'S ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Eco-conscious clothing for the fashion thirsty.

Born in 2015, the British brand Milk It celebrates all the senses of the individual person from style and attitude to romance and soul. Originally a reworked vintage brand creating pieces with used fabrics from military and biker jackets to feminine dresses, Milk It now returns with a focus on our impact on the environment. Our ethos ‘Sustainable style for the fashion thirsty’ embodies our vision to curate pieces with timeless style while minimising our impact on the environment.

Our Story

As a brand committed to respecting the vulnerability of our planet we are also aware of how huge an impact the fashion industry has on polluting our ecosystem and that despite taking steps in the right direction, we are not perfect. However, we are dedicated to pushing and challenging the methods we use and strive to minimise our footprint and remain conscious of our virtues to ultimately do better.

We strive to source all cotton used for our denim & jersey in an eco-conscious practise by using either recycled, ethically sourced or organic cotton. We're now also proud to partner with The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) to improve cotton farming globally. Better Cotton is not physically traceable to end products. However, BCI Farmers benefit from the demand for Better Cotton in equivalent volumes to those we ‘source.

Our Knitwear is made using at least 50% low impact materials, mixing regenerated cotton and recycled polyester from pre and post consumer waste. Our woven’s are produced using an eco-material called LENZING™ ECOVERO™. Thanks to these eco-responsible production practices, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ has a much lower environmental impact than generic viscose, as confirmed by the Higg MSI*, leaving air and water cleaner. LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are certified with the EU Ecolabel. Fibers quickly biodegrade within the standards’ time limits in all tested environments (soil, industrial compost, home compost, fresh water, and marine environment). Additionally, our neck labels and swing tags are made using recycled and recyclable materials and all our orders are delivered in FSC approved paper packaging and 100% of our packaging is recyclable, including the sticker and protective garment poly bag.

We aim to be a climate positive workforce. We’ve partnered with Ecologi to calculate the average carbon emissions of every member of our team (at work and at home) and are now funding tree planting projects across the world to offset that carbon footprint. We’ve planted over 1,000 trees so far, and counting.Care, rewear and repair your clothes to keep them at their best season after season.
